This interview is with April Paschke (she/her), a former employee of Culver’s and other restaurants in Wisconsin, recorded by Katie McLean. She worked at the drive thru window at Culvers, as well as working as a hostess at a local pizza place. In this interview, April discusses her experiences as a trans women working in the food service industry and how that has effected the way she’s viewed herself and the world around her. She talks about the dream that first hinted that she was trans, the discrimination she’s faced and witnessed in her jobs, and her philosophies on how to make the world better. This interview highlights themes of the importance of confidence and accepting your own identity, as well as taking change into your own hands.
